I thought I would start this blog with the event I most recently worked on with the Epicure Gourmet Market. This event was part of a fundraising weekend for United Cerebal Palsy of South Florida. Every year the owner of Epicure donates the food for a Tennis Tournament they host at Crandon Park to raise funds. This year, however, the state cut all funding to this non-profit, so we wanted to do a little more and try and raise money in a big way. I'd like to say we had a year to plan this... but we didn't. We put together this entire event in under 8 weeks. We had guest celebrity Chef Hedy Goldsmith, Chef Steve Martorano, Chef Michelle Bernstein, our catering Specialty Chef Michael Love, and our very own Executive Chef Hector Morales. They each prepared a dish that they plated on stage in front of the guests. It was really great fun.
We had 150 votives which we didn't start hanging until 1PM and the start time was 6PM. But we got it done! I had some great help and ultimately it looked beautiful.
